The application fee is Rs.1500/- (fifteen hundred) for general and OBC candidates and Rs. 750/- (seven hundred and fifty) for candidates pertaining to SC/ST/PH category.Women candidates are exempted from the payment of application fees.
What is the degree offered by VGSOM?
The degree being offered is the 2 year full time Master of Business Administration from IIT Kharagpur.
Do we have to choose a specialization in second year or is it a general MBA?
It is a general MBA program. You will, however, have the option of choosing electives based on your interest, along with the core subjects during the second year. There is no upper limit in terms of "seats" for any electives. Also, first two semesters subjects are common to all students covering all the necessary areas of management.
Is there any Scholarship scheme running for the students?
VGSOM, IIT Kharagpur, is committed to ensure that a student’s financial resources do not become a constraint for pursuing MBA education at the school. Accordingly, the school has put in place a liberal financial aid programme for needy students. Fees waiver of up to 50 % or the entire amount is provided to students based on need. Approximately 30% of the batch gets financial aid.
Can we pursue executive MBA from VGSOM?
The school has launched Executive MBA programme for working professionals at the Kolkata and Bhubaneswar campuses in July 2010 and September 2010 respectively. The EMBA programme would enable working professionals to hone their managerial knowledge and skills while continuing to be employed.
